How to Play Domino Online: Rules for the Draw Variant

Dominoes are one of the simplest games to learn and one of the hardest to fully master. Here's the draw variant used in GAMEAREA's Classics catalog.

The tiles

A standard double-six set has 28 tiles, each showing two numbers (0–6) as pip counts. Each player is dealt a hand from the shuffled set; the rest form the "boneyard."

Playing a tile

The first tile starts the chain. On your turn, you play a tile from your hand whose end matches an open end of the chain — placing it so the matching numbers touch. The chain can extend in either direction.

Drawing

If you have no tile that matches either open end, you draw from the boneyard until you get a playable tile or the boneyard is empty, in which case you pass.

Winning a round

The first player to play every tile in their hand wins the round. If the game blocks (nobody can play and the boneyard is empty), the player with the lowest total pip count in hand wins.
