1. 1 Take turns placing stones on empty intersections — surround opponent groups to capture them.
2. 2 Suicide moves are illegal unless they capture; pass when you have no useful play.
3. 3 Two consecutive passes end the game — score by territory, stones, and captures (White gets 6.5 komi).
