1. 1 Place stones on empty intersections; groups with no liberties are captured and removed.
2. 2 Suicide is illegal unless the move captures opponent stones.
3. 3 Pass when you believe further stones lose points — two consecutive passes end the game.
4. 4 Score territory plus captured stones; White receives 6.5 komi on this board size.
5. 5 Thick connected groups are hard to kill; thin shapes invite cuts.
